A shock-absorbing platform is shown. It has been designed for safely moving the THEMIS instruments. When engineers and scientists have to move instruments to a new location, they often move the instruments in a truck or a car. Additional shock-absorption is important in such transportation so that the instruments do not get damaged while traveling. This is such a platform. Note the round loops holding the top and bottom together. These act as shock-absorbing springs.
