THEMIS Magnetometer Installation at Carson City
  David and Robert are outside
Next, we had to decide where to put the magnetometer. It is best placed away from iron metal objects and electronics. On this site, there is a lot of metal: the fence, the many satellite dishes, and in the weather station. There are also buried wires carrying electrical current to these objects in the fenced area. So we needed to find a place that was an equal distance from all of these magnetic contaminations. David (left) is holding the magnetometer sensor cable and Robert is standing to the right.
