Dr. Manfred Bester During Filming of NOVA's Science NOW
PBS NOVA Science NOW came to film several of the THEMIS scientists and engineers for a short NOVA piece about THEMIS. Bryce Roberts, in THEMIS Mission Operations, took this photograph of Drs. Manfred Bester and Neil deGrasse Tyson looking over the calculated orbits for the five THEMIS probes on Dr. Bester's new laptop computer. Dr. Bester is the Mission Operations Director at the Space Sciences Laboratory, UC Berkeley. Dr. Tyson is the host for NOVA Science NOW, astrophysicist and the Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
